Try It Tuesday...Taco Night!

Most Tuesday nights we have tacos. It's quick, easy and I just love saying Taco Tuesday. It also gives me a good excuse to use my vintage mexican table cloth that I found years ago at an antique store in Nashville, Tn. Summer taco nights are usually more fun because we typically put margarita's on the adult menu.

Anyway I just recently added these taco stands to the festivities and I think you should definitely gives these a try if you're mexican fanatics like we are. The kids think they are great and do I.

One side holds two and flip it over if you're just having one taco. I prefer the metal over the colorful plastic. You can find them here or I'm sure any restaurant supply store has them as well.

Friday Favorites...

We are officially a month and three days into winter now and
faux fur is still ruling around here.
Raga does it again. This dolman sleeve cardigan is great to travel with, versatile and most importantly comfortable! The perfect sweater to transition from winter to spring.
This vintage style gold base adjustable norah cuff with a pop of color will definitely not be ignored  this spring & summer.

Friday Favorites...

I hadn't been to the bay area for awhile. Actually the last time I set foot in Oakland airport  was 9/10/01. Mark and I were heading back to Denver after his foot surgery, I was 4 months pregnant with our first born. Everyone knows the tragedy that happened the next day. It's hard to believe that it's been a little over twelve years.

I was glad to be back in the area last weekend and it was even better that I was heading north to wine country with my hubbs. On the way up we took the Bay Bridge to San Fran so we could drive to Napa via the Golden Gate Bridge. That was our second time crossing it and my goal is to bike across it next time. We grabbed some grub in Sausalito and then made our way to Napa. Here are 6 favorites from the trip and be sure to keep them in mind for your next time there.

1.  Domaine Chandon was a definite stop. Who doesn't love bubbles?
2.  We really loved St. Helena and French Blue is a great choice for lunch.
3.  One of my favorite Chards is Elizabeth Spencer. Yes, she was there!
4.  Pride Mountain winery you can have one foot in Sonoma & one in Napa.
5.  The popular Silver Oak has a time capsule that they will open in 50 years.
6.  Most unique flooring is at Orwin Swift using pages of old chinese books.

Friday Favorites...
With a new year comes Pantone's new color of the year.
This years pick...Radiant Orchard.

I've never been a big fan of purple but it has started to grow on me lately. Ease Radiant Orchard into your wardrobe with however it suits you best. I think I'll start with Essie's play date's one of my favorites.

Matisse Nugent Boots

I've been wearing these boots with everything...stripes, plaid, patterns you name it. Love the edge they bring to my outfits.

Raga Textured Sweater

This sweater has changed my life and made this winter weather a little more bearable. It's warm, soft and just lots of fun!  I dress it up with and wear it super casual. I've lost count on how many times I have worn this.

Try It Tuesday...

matcha tea...
have you tried it?

I've been told how good this tea is for you and finally took the plunge over Christmas break.
I went ahead and bought the set at Teavana which came with this can of tea, a battery operated frother (you can use a bamboo one as well) and a bowl to make/drink my matcha.

Check out matchasource to read more about it but here's just a few of the reasons I drink it:

When drinking matcha you are getting the benefits of the whole leaf, not just the brewed water as in other green teas.

It's packed with antioxidants (more than pomegranates & blueberries), chlorophyll and fiber among others.

Great for your skin, energy and as a detoxifier and if you are still not convinced...the gal at Teavana had a matcha leaf tatooed on her arm because it had made such a difference in her life (tatoos don't lie)

1 tsp per 8 oz water

pour in hot water while frothing with whisk

I drink it straight out of the bowl!

Hopefully this will be a game changer for the new year.
Do you drink it? If so I would love to know where you buy yours.

Friday Favorites...

Friday Favorites...winter casual
For some reason this Wildfox sweatshirt was calling my name. 1974 has no importance to me but the comfiness of this sweatshirt, colors and the vintage feel made this piece a must have for my wardrobe.

I found this black & white cardigan at the Gap Outlet early December. I was looking for something a little warmer to take back to Illinois for Christmas. Love the gap for everyday essentials, plus it seems that there is always some sort of sale going on. I've worn the heck out of this since the day I bought it.

I'm so late to the party with these Ray-Ban Wayfarer shades. Everyone and their brother has a pair but it's just recently that I've hopped on board with this style. They are timeless, plus the new lighter and new design is great for smaller faces. Not sure if they look as good on me as they did on Audrey Hepburn but...
