As of last weekend I had never made Kale chips!
After stopping into Whole Foods and sampling theirs for $9 a box I thought it was time I tried making my own.

I'm not quite sure if there is a better recipe so maybe some of you can give me some pointers for next time.
My way...
I tossed one container of baby kale in Olive Oil & Sea Salt.
I divided the container to make different flavors of chips. I made a sea salt batch and a pecorino romano batch.
I roasted the kale at 350 degrees for about 18 minutes. They came out very thin and crispy, but delicious.
So delicious that I couldn't eat just one! I ate both bowls and Oops! there wasn't any left for the family to try. Next time I will try using curly kale as it seems it might hold up to roasting a little better. I definitely liked the sea salt over the cheese but would love to try other flavors as well.
How do you make your kale chips?

I have never made it with baby kale as I thought it would totally sizzle in there. But curly kale chips are so yummy. I make them the same way. Super easy and so yummy!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's how I make them. Except I prefer the flat kale over the curly. I hear of people making a bunch and keeping them in an airtight container. This doesn't work for me. I think they get chewy. Right out of the oven is best!
