This Month I'm Obsessed With...

Here are my monthly obsessions that I couldn't live without this month!

Nothing screams that I live in Texas like wearing a buckle does.
I found this buckle when I went to the infamous Round Top Antique Show last April and I love wearing it with shorts this summer.

These are more than a monthly obsession...more like an everyday necessity. Ray-Ban Bubble Wrap Aviators are a must. I love the lightness of them and how they wrap around my face. I would love to see Ray-Ban make these in a smaller size for people like me who have a small face!

Festival Bag by LuLu Lemon is a must !
I have last year's version but I'm loving the new and improved style this season! It's great for a baseball game, zoo trip, travel or just when you want to carry a smaller, functional bag for on the go.
I've seen it in black, orange and white but they go fast folks so if you like it I would grab one ASAP. Check it out here on their's a cross-body bag or you can wear it as a fanny pack.

Gulf Shores Recap-5 6 7 8...

What do you get when you take a team of 9U baseball players to the USSSA World Series in Gulf Shores, AL?

Spartans 9U USSSA Champions with their rings!
A team that came to take home some hardware! Everything just came together for these boys and they played their hearts out. They played 8 games total and the Spartans were 6-2. We had to come out of the loser's bracket on Saturday because we had already lost one game on Friday. They had to win four games on that Saturday (they had to beat the same team twice) to win it all and that's just what they did!

Tuesday started the series with pin trading among the teams playing in the tournament. We had pins made before the tournament started and they put them on a towel that we also had made for them.

Teams come from all over to play so it's fun for the boys to go around and collect these!

Jack played catcher, 2nd base and pitcher in this tournament.

Spartans with their trophy!

We had a lot of rain that week but it didn't stop us from making some great memories with a great group of families both on the field and off the field! It turned out to be a great vacation and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Here are a few more pics of the week...

This wasn't the only shark we saw that week. Yes, he pulled him out right where the kids had been skim boarding!

Notice the guy with the cool hair on the left? Way to bring the eighties back Steve!

Fashion Friday PJ Style...

I typically don't wear pajamas. My nightly "uni" is a cotton tank/t and sweats. That's what I'm comfy in...just the basics, nothing fancy. After our trip to Gulf Shores last week my sleepwear maybe getting a little more chic.

The outlet malls were on the way to the baseball fields so of course the ladies had to make a trip there before the games one afternoon to see what Foley, AL had to offer us. I didn't find a lot but on our way out my friend Janet had to stop into Soma. I have never been into a Soma because like I said I'm not fancy when it comes to sleepwear but I couldn't let her go in alone right?

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this hidden jewel in the back on the sale rack.
I haven't been this excited about a purchase in awhile!
Leopard Robe
This is the softest robe and I'm head over heels about the leopard print!  I HAD to have this robe and when I saw the price I couldn't believe my eyes.  This robe was originally $82 and I bought it for $15.

Next purchase...

Please don't be jealous of these awesome cotton button down p.j.'s! I love the print and the red satin edging is the cherry on top. This set was $14...yes the top & pants. Who doesn't love this kind of bargain?

So bottom line is I walked out with $166 worth of sleepwear for $31. Needless to say I was on cloud nine the rest of the afternoon!  Here's to more cozy, chic nights around here!

Try It Tuesday...

If you're looking for a new crop to workout in look no further.

LuLu Lemon has the perfect pair that I seem to never want to take off. They are a little pricey but so worth the investment.

Try the In The Flow Crop for yourself and let me know what you think.

I love the light weight material and the tightness of these. They fit like a glove and are super stylish to wear while running your daily errands!

I have them in black and they aren't see through...although a lot of the reviews on these say they are. I did buy the neon pink ones earlier this spring and had to return them. I came home, did a couple of down dogs and they were a little sheer for my liking! I didn't want to offend my fellow yogi's in class...

I'm always in the market for new workout gear so let me know what your favorites are!

It rained 7 out of 8 days...

We didn't let a little rain stop us from having fun in Gulf Shores, AL last week...
First day driving in...
Jack feeding the birds goldfish on the ferry ride over...
Be sure to check back later in the week for more deets of our trip...We celebrated two birthdays, learned how to skim board, experienced ocean life up close and personal, watched the boys play great baseball and made some great memories with our baseball family!

Heading to the beach?

I love a good surf shop...especially when I'm at the beach on vacation. I don't know why but every time I walk into one I want to buy every tacky souvenir. The more it's neon the more I want it, only knowing that I will never wear it once I leave and go back to life...back to reality...but I still want it. I had a hard time walking away from the neon pink Gulf Shores off the shoulder sweatshirt...but I did it. What I didn't do was walk away from the airbrush counter. As soon as I saw all of the different airbrush options I knew I had to make my decision ASAP. Drum roll please...and this is what I chose...

I'm not into airbrush makeup or airbrush tans but I'm into this HAT in a big way! I've been wanting a trucker hat for some time now and this is the perfect one for me. It just makes me giggle inside...tacky but oh so fun!
Here's another flashback...
Who doesn't remember having a coral ring when they were a kid?
I had to have those as well...too bad Ryan's broke moments after we left the store :-(

You should have seen the store today when the rain was falling...SUPER PACKED!
Unlike baseball teams, I am pretty sure that those stores live for the rain out.
If you want me to pick up a custom hat or t-shirt for you, you better respond quickly because BeachTime is quickly running out!

When in doubt...hang ten or hang loose or whatever...

Pull-Apart Sugar/Cinnamon Bread

Here's a fast and easy breakfast recipe that your kiddos will love! We make these when we're in a pinch and don't have cinnamon rolls on hand or don't feel like running to the donut shop! They aren't the healthiest but at least you know what ingredients your kids are eating!
Here's how...

Bundt Pan
1 can (8 ready to bake) of buttermilk Biscuits (I use Immaculate silly ingredients)
1/2 stick of butter
1/4 cup of Sugar
1/4 cup of Brown Sugar
1/4-1/2 tsp of cinnamon (I use vietnamese so it's pretty strong)

Preheat oven to 325-put butter into bundt pan a place on the middle rack while preheating.
Quarter the biscuits and put into a gallon plastic bag with dry ingredients. Shake vigorously until biscuits are thoroughly dusted with sweet goodness.
When butter is melted take bundt pan out and evenly distribute biscuits into pan.
Bake for 20-22 minutes or until golden brown.

Drizzle with buttercream icing if desired and here's how...

Buttercream icing
1/2 c powdered sugar
1 T milk
1/8 C butter

Melt butter in microwave and whisk in sugar and might need to add a little powdered sugar or milk to get the consistency you like.

Fashion Friday...

What do you wear when you travel on a road trip?

Usually I'm in workout gear but I think this might be an option for my next get away. The cropped jeans are stretchy and comfy for the car ride plus they'll keep me warm when the temperature in the car is a little chillier than I like. Don't worry, I always have a jacket or sweater with me to keep me warm...yes even in Texas!
My white tank is always a must when I travel. It's long, light weight and perfect for layering.
I finished the look with my pippa necklace to add a little color and fun!

To call this outfit versatile would be an understatement. It's comfy, casual and ready for any type of dinner when I arrive at my destination!

Last Weekend...

This weekend is going to be a little different from last and this is why...

We spent last Saturday night and early Sunday in Beaumont, TX and yes we drug my dad, mom, sister, brother-in-law, Vance & Vaughn (who had just flown in Thursday night from the Lou) with us. Vaughnie was one hot lady...

grandad with his grandchildren minus 1
Last Saturday was Houston's hottest day (it was the same in Beaumont, Tx) for the year-a sweltering 107 degrees. Jack played two games that evening and I don't think we have ever been so sweaty in my life...I'm speaking for everyone.
They played some of their best baseball so it was well worth the trip...

S'mores for dessert!

my favorite!
Hope everyone has an awesome 4th and stay away from the sparklers!
