#1 Reason why I'm starting off the week disorganized...

You hear all the time about what baseball season does to your yard..."I used to have the best lawn in the neighborhood, now it is all weeds"...or how you used to attend church on a regular basis until "Championship Sunday" started rolling around. Ah yes, it is definitely spring in the great state of Texas!!!

I know this because I just spent my entire weekend at a baseball field...and loved every minute of it!!!

This is the Champion Katy Spartans 8U Elite team.

...this is the first time they won a tournament and we couldn't be more proud of our little Spartans!
They were 5-0 on the weekend...two games on Saturday and three on Sunday. The only thing that would have mad the victory a little more sweet is if the games were a little closer to the crib. Come on Pursley-can't you find a closer tournament?

I'm pretty sure Jack had his angel in the outfield watching over him and his teammates this weekend...

Ry Bray in the stands...

And Ryan putting on her "Game Face"...

Great group of parents and kiddos on the team and I'm pretty sure it's going to be another fun season in the sun.

10

Ryan turned ten last week

and with that we added two more to our team.

That would be Oscar & Delilah-
her hermit crabs...

She absolutely loves them and I love the beautiful, sweet, well-mannered, caring, funny and dramatic little girl she has become. I couldn't be more proud of her. The next ten are probably going to go even faster than the last so Ry Bray we have a lot of memories to make before you start your own adventure.

It's Tuesday and it's going to be fat

I've been looking at these king cakes all month at the store and I finally broke down today. Their $1 off coupon was the deal breaker. Plus I thought I would let the kids fight about who finds the baby. That always makes for a good night.

 Happy Mardi Gras!

brother in the house

It has taken me almost two months to get my brother out of the box! Ha...my brother sewing machine that is!  This is one of my favorite Christmas gifts and I can't wait to get started. I have to be honest....my hearts racing a little bit just looking at this machine that has taken over Mark's side of the desk. Not sure what my first project will be...might need to look into a sewing 101 class!
Here she is

Ryan has told me over and over again this year that I'm not an "Arts & Crafts" mom and I have to agree with her. No I am not---my sister was the lucky one who inherited that gene but I guess it's never too late to try.

Here's what we crafted this weekend

Fluffy Flip Floppies

Might need to trim them down a little so you can see her toes! So easy to make and fun for her to wear!

Starting off the week right...

I know I know before you even say it. But believe me when I say that it tastes a lot better than it looks.

My sweet neighbor gave me this green smoothie recipe and I tried it for the first time today.
DON'T smell it....just drink it and you'll be surprised.
Here's how:

3 handfuls of spinach
1 pear
Handful of blueberries
splash of Pom juice
water
ice

Blend it all together
DRINK
Let me know what you think or if you have an easy green smoothie recipe.

Smells so GUD

Yes, this smells so good and it's even better that you can find it at Target Boutique! Mom found it when she was here last week and put it in her bathroom here. Guess she didn't like the soap and lotion I had for her!!!! Don't worry mom....I bought my own so I'm not using your private stash here!  It's paraben free and good for the body!

Hope everyone had a good weekend. We kicked off the baseball season with Jack's first tournament this weekend. They lost 2 out of 3...not a good way to start. They haven't played since last June and it was chilly....I'll give them that.

Have a good week everyone!

Weekend Recap

Last year these girls surprised me for my birthday.

This was Junie and I last year when they showed up at our door.
It's a little obvious that we were completely surprised!
Of course I hadn't showered all day...

This year Bauer came solo but didn't surprise me. I did shower the day she arrived.

It rained pretty much the ENTIRE weekend and our power went out for a couple of hours Friday night (hence the candles in the background) but we didn't let it dampen our weekend. Yes, she did buy boots...matching ones with Jillian. We decided that she needs a do over weekend with better weather.

Sunday we relaxed watching the big game. We made a couple of appetizers-nothing too fancy since we were recovering from my birthday festivities! What did you think of the halftime show? Madonna looked great but her dance moves have suffered over the years.

Happy Monday!
