George Ezekiel Little, Jr. 1916-2012
Pernod-Ricard SA RI:FP
84.7300 EUR ⬇ 2.4700 ⬇ 2.83%
Pernod Ricard USA, producer of Chivas Regal® Scotch Whisky, The Glenlivet® Single Malt Scotch Whisky
and Beefeater® Gin to name a few, stock
continues to tumble this morning after news of the passing of 96 year old Edwardsville,
IL native and famed gin connoisseur, George E. Little, Jr.
To shoulder the loss of Mr. Little’s
passing, Pernod Ricard has decided to cease production operations at two French
plants outside of Paris and lay off an unprecedented 250 employees globally.
In a statement released by Daniele Ricard,
Chairman of the Board of Directors for Pernod Ricard, “Mr. Little was our most
valued customer. His contributions and patronage to our Beefeater® brand are unparalleled across
the globe. A millennium might pass before another man of his dedication comes
along. He will be deeply missed and my condolences go out to all of his family
members”.
Rumor has it that George Little would only
order his Beefeater® Gin on the rocks and would
specifically ask for 3-olives as to prevent the contamination of the gin with
any other mixer. A common practice was to distribute the gin-soaked olives to
family members. When asking Mr. Little how he was doing on any given day, he
would reply “have to” and smile that eye-squinting smile that would warm
anyone’s heart.
So the next time somebody around you
sneezes, you can remember George (Grandpa/Dad) by saying, “Gesundheit, bless a
me Cronkite”
We love you and miss you already!

Thanksgiving 2012
Thanksgiving has come and gone and what a relaxing holiday it was! I can't begin to tell you how much we needed this downtime to recharge and to get organized so we can enjoy the start of the holiday season!
It has been 4 days of sleeping in..relaxing...organizing and taking care of Jack a roo who has been sick all weekend.
We did manage to get the Turkey Dash in Thursday morning and it is now part of our family tradition each year. Mark is still upset that the results of the race were wrong. I guess this is the competitive side in him while I was just grateful we finished with the kiddos. We enjoyed the warm weather, our steak dinner and our left over turkey sandwiches the next day!
Our tree is up...Looks great..little full...lottta sap!
I always look forward to pulling out our ornaments and remembering where each one came from. I'm obsessed with Christopher Radko and I've been collecting his ornaments for quite some years now.
I just love the vintage feel of his ornaments and the fact that each one takes 7 days to make. If this peaks your interest at all click here to read about this unique process.

anyway...
Mother Teresa came up in conversation at book club yesterday and her anyway poem. I had never heard it before and I think these are some great words to live by. If you have heard it before it will be a good refresher and if you haven't I suggest you read it here...
People are often unreasonable,
illogical and self-centered;
Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind,
people may accuse you of selfish ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.
If you are successful,
you will win some false friends and true enemies;
Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank,
people may cheat you;
Be honest anyway.
What you spend years building,
someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness,
they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.
The good you do today,
people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have,
and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you’ve got anyway.
You see, in the final analysis,
it is between you and God;
It was never between you and them anyway.

Thank you...
This is one of my favorite pictures that I have taken and I took it with my iPhone! I rarely use my camera anymore...
And I have to thank my neighbor's son Connor who took the time to put this in our yard as he's working his way towards an eagle scout!
I love this and couldn't think of a more fitting way to honor our veterans and active-duty service members for all you have given to your country.
I hope you all have taken a moment yesterday &/or today to say thank you...

Look who will be celebrating...
Love these girls...it's times like this that I wish we lived closer to home. My sister will be celebrating her birthday today and we will be celebrating her and the end of the election. Spaghetti squash is on the menu for tonight and a busy day lies ahead.
Sis I hope you're doing something fun for your big day...
XO
