SCAT on my MAT

Scat on my mat...kind of sounds like something out of a Dr. Seuss book doesn't it? Well this is what I woke up to yesterday morning when I stepped out to get the paper. Gross huh?

Well I spent a little bit of time on the computer looking up all different kinds of "scat" to determine exactly what kind it could be. I actually learned this is another name for animal fecal dropping-YUCK. Anyway, I thought it would be a good idea to know what is lurking around so it wouldn't be much of a surprise to me in case it is "scatting" when I open my door to let Junie out at night or early in the morning.

When I was coming home from taking the kids to school this morning there was a robin on my mat and of course when I went to check there was a fresh new pile of scat.

HELP-What do you all think? Could this be from a robin? Comment please!

  1. That's scary. I have birds that like to hang out in the wreath on my front door, but they've never left anything like that for me! I like birds if they're far away. It freaks me out to open the door (I bang on it from the inside first to scare them away - just in case) but have now removed my wreath. What's on your door or on your porch that could be attracting them?

Can't even take a drink of my coffee because I'm laughing so hard! As you know my animal issues, I have never seen "scat" like that. Mom

We have that scat. It's on our back porch. We were thinking a raccoon, but is it too small to belong to a raccoon???!!! I don't know!

  5. Looks like it could be from geese. Our lake has been covered in geese lately. They leave little presents everywhere they go.
